Think Beyond Plastic™ inspires disruptive innovation and advanced entrepreneurship towards the creation of market-based alternatives to disposable plastic products. The Think Beyond Plastic™ Innovation Forum works to incubate and develop ideas that measurably reduce plastic pollution through material, manufacturing, and design innovations. Emerald’s work here has focused on supporting the charitable purpose of the Forum via: Innovation Competition project management. Due diligence on global competition, database management, and applicant engagement. Strategic communications and fundraising for increased media attention and reduced costs. Entrepreneurial support and strategic planning.

Prompted by a case study Emerald executed on the client’s daily operations, this project included a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory which Emerald conducted. Key aspects of this project include: Analyzing historical data to identify trends and anomalies. Conducting one-on-one interviews with employees to understand business operations and existing sustainability efforts. Collaboratively identifying sustainability opportunities with client for cost-saving strategies.
Residential Sustainability Planning Project

Emerald is helping a private landowner design and construct a single-family home built for climate and natural disaster resiliency. Working with the client’s land for an eco-efficient approach, our plan draws inspiration from the natural geography and regional climate to construct a home fully synergistic with the environment.
